The ICF REXwall system consists of two 7 cm permanent formworks in Expanded Sintered Polystyrene (EPS). The panels can be easily assembled directly at the construction site with the help of specific spacers made of recycled plastic material or stainless steel. In this way the formworks can be created according to the structural needs of every single project. The panels are assembled together in a reversible way, in order to reduce the installation time and the amount of waste. The spacers have the function of accommodating the horizontal interlocking rebars and consequently facilitating the insertion of the vertical reinforcing bars. All the spacers must be mechanically hooked to the EPS panel, to eliminate the risk that the formworks lift up during the casting process. The internal surface with dovetail vertical sections is created appositely for a perfect settling of the concrete. The external surface has vertical grooves and a particular full-height honeycomb pattern, that guarantee the adhesion of the superficial plaster layer.
